Physical Fitness and Entrepreneurship

Physical fitness is as important as leadership skills, creativity, art of execution and communication skills for an entrepreneur. You would have observed that we loose our capability to figure out good solutions when we are in pain or not physically fit. In other words, our mental fitness is a function of our physical fitness. What else? This should be a sufficient reason for an entrepreneur. 

An entrepreneur usually has a very busy schedule, has to travel a lot, most of the times. And if he is not in good health, how can we expect him to do well in his business meetings, brainstorming sessions, planning sessions, etc? We should forget about his vision and creativity. 

Besides, it is always advantageous to have  your body in good shape, because many people judge you by looks and decide whether they would want to talk to you or not. 

Few tips for staying physically fit, which are very easy to implement 

  1. Consume 'Low Glycemic Index' Food; 
  2. A little exercise everyday;
  3. Consumption of little caffeine, in my opinion, is good;
Other benefits In your effort to stay fit, you lift your spirit as well, which you do not realize at the conscious level. For example, when you walk at more than normal speed, you would observe that you feel like never stopping. It happens to me usually. You may also observe it next time, if you have not already done so. You also feel very active and light weight after some exercise. 

You are most welcome to give your opinion on how physical fitness is very essential for an entrepreneur and how do you manage to achieve it in your life.

  1. well yes,I agree, if we are not physically fit it obstructs our brain cognitive functions because pain grabs our attention and I think this is the only way physical health affects cognitive function and the solution should be either we train our mind such that it ignores that pain or we keep ourselves physically fit.
    I think there are two aspects to mental fitness
    1)training the mind.
    2)keeping brain healthy.
    Mind is like controlling program while brain is like hardware, we need to take care of both.

    for healthy brain we need to take care of our diet.Brain food or cognitive diet should be included in diet like
    include antioxidants rich diet, this are the main thing when talking of brain food.
    include nuts ,walnut hazelnut cashew almonds
    green leafy vegetables
    fish food
    avoid high carbohydrate diet like sugar, cold drinks, white bread, potatoes chips
    avoid alcohols and other depressant drugs
